Ok - you all know I'm a magnet for animals. Last night just totally blew me away!

I was about an hour into my route on this old back dirt road and I saw what I thought was a beer can sitting in the middle of the road (lots of beer cans on back country roads) - just as I start to pass over it - it's NOT a beer can - but a little owl - he turns his head, I see one eye then THUD!

I'm devastated! I leap out of the car and run back - he's sprawled out wings all cockeyed, on his back, eyes open, dead. I gently pick him up, no heart beat I can detect, pull his wings in next to his body, and gently lay him on his back on the back seat of my car on my wool pancho (I figure I will take him to my native american friend who will either use his wings for smudging or we will do a "back to the earth" ceremony) Owls are very sacred. I drove about 5 more minutes and thought - oh - I should close his eyes. So I stop, turn on the overhead light, and reach around to the back seat, but his eyes are now closed and his little claws are balled up. I am so sad. So I said outloud "Great Spirit, Owl Spirit - please watch over this little ones soul." I turn back to look once more and the owl is now SITTING UP looking at me!!!!! This is absolutely true!
I started bawling like a baby!! Great Spirit and Owl Spirit brought him/her back!! I just sat there stunned and bawling for about 5 minutes. Then I "got real" - wait a minute - this little guy is small but he has some nasty claws - so I took a cardboard box I use for papers and turned it upside down over him. Every once in a while I would hear him brushing against the side of the box. When I got home I got a cat carrier, put some cedar in the bottom, cut off a cedar branch (left some of the brush on it) and stuck it across so the owl would have a perch and lifted up the cardboard box. He's just sitting there looking at me. I put on my "wild animal gloves" and then the fun began - he can't fly but boy can he hop!!
Only took about 2 minutes, but finally picked him up and put him in the carrier. I sat the carrier up on my copier away from the squirrel and bunny's cages. He has some raw ground beef and pork and fresh water - I covered the carrier - he's sitting on the branch - I will let him rest - what an experience!!!
I'm still freaked.................!!!!! Owl Medicine - WOW!!

I follow Native American Spirituality lilmiss.

I don't believe in human sacrifice (same as I don't believe in war or any thing that harms anyone) I eat meat on occasion - but only after thanking the spirit of the animal who gave up it's life for me.

I believe in Great Spirit (what you call God - the Source of all things)

I'm appreciative of your comments - but because "one" is a pagan - does not make one a "devil worshiper" - in fact - in order to worship the devil - one must first be a believer in Christianity. I am not a christian and so there is no "devil". Evil - yes - but man created. There is no light without the dark. I try to live in the light. I would be considered an "animist" - I see the "God" light in all things - animals, people, rocks, trees, etc.

Owl Spirit (Owl Medicine)
Silent Wisdom, when one works with Owl Medicine they will be able to see and hear what others try to hide. They teach you to keep silent and go about your business. Also - the Owl balances the Hawk (one hunts at night - the other during the day) Since I use so much Hawk medicine - I'm sure Owl has showed up in my life to balance me out.

And I have never heard of "moloch" - sorry.

Lilmiss,

As for adoption - I think that's great! But I raised 8 kids (and several of their friends who moved in with us because of abuse at their homes) - and am a wee bit past the age of raising kids again. (my youngest is 26)

My love of animals is a life long thing and I now have the ways and the means to take care of unwanted animals (or find them good homes).

Hope you find a beautiful, loving child to adopt - or 2 or 3 - that would be wonderful!! (my brother adopted his son)

And I believe ALL life is sacred - even the smallest insect is created by Great Spirit!! So someone has to love the animals and care for them too.

Shocked Snowhawkwoman, I got this in an email this morning -- and was just wondering where to post it!!!

The Owl

"Owl spirit has many symbolic associations. These include clairvoyance, astral projection, wisdom, and both black and white magic. Owl is often times the spirit of sorcerers and witches, as well as the symbol for justice and balance. If you are feeling someone is attempting to deceive you, worry not. Where others may be deceived, Owl sees and knows the truth, because they can see what others cannot - a true gift of their wisdom. No matter how hard someone may be trying to disguise or hide the truth from you in some life situation, the Owl asks you to use your powers of keen, silent, intuitive observation. The truth will be revealed. Allow the Universe to handle the situation. Let true, balanced justice prevail. Know that the truth will set everyone free by bringing enlightenment."

You're a woman after my own heart with your love of animals. I rescue any that I can and hope someday to be able to "have the ways and means to take care of unwanted animals" as you do. thumright

Lil Miss - just to clarify something - I totally believe in Evil (I see it all the time) - I said I don't believe in the "devil" - there's a difference in my humble opinion. The Devil is a Christian concept - the "fallen Angel" who is going to snatch you down to Hell any way he can. (don't believe in Hell either - I think that's basically here on earth - cleaning up your karmic stuff)

There is definitely a "dark side" and something I avoid at all costs (been there in my late teens - don't want to be there ever again!!) But if not for the darkness - we could not see the light. I'm going thru another "metamorposis" of the soul right now and searching out all the "dark spots on my soul" - so yes - I do believe in "darkness" and "evil" - just not the "devil" - just like Great Spirit (God) to me is Light & Energy (not some guy up on a throne on a cloud)

And I totally enjoy your "rambling sentences"!!

OK Deerscribe - that's just eerie - I do believe maybe this is message for all 3 of us - the owl.

BTW - the owl appears to have a hurt eye (or that side of his head was hit by the car - one eye is much smaller and slightly swollen) but he's sitting on his perch branch and while I was away he did drink quite a bit of water (didn't touch the meat - will try something else this evening for food)
If he's not "better" by tomorrow evening - then Monday he goes to a rehabber.

Yes, I hadn't thought of it but it does apply to me and I'm having a hard time allowing the Universe to handle the situation! Thanks to both of you for pointing out it may be a personal and group message!

And I'm so glad the little owl is doing better. Keep us posted on his progress.

snowhawk - the name for this one would be Archimedes - the name of Merlin's owl in The Sword and the Stone, or The Once and Future King.

Powerful magic, owl magic is. I'm SO glad he revived. And came to you for a reason.

GREAT MEDICINE!!!!

Things like this used to occur more often and then they labeled some of the recounts "myths".

The Owl is one of my totems.

Just a little update on the owl:

The eye is almost back to normal -and he is no longer constantly swiveling his head. He's drinking water - but still not eating the raw meat - he/she looks GREAT!! It's a barn owl I think - not very big (maybe 7" from top of head to end of tail feathers) (they say the barn owl is a fearless and fearsome as the great horned owl by the way!!)
HOW does one tell if it's a girl owl or a boy owl??? Might then be able to name him/her! LOL!!

Today we are going to see the kids and stop at the pet store and get some live mice (yuck!!!) - I will pray over them - but I need to get this owl eating. My husband thought maybe crickets - but I think owls are more "mice" lovers than bug lovers. I will just throw in a mouse and then run into the other room - can't handle it when my cats catch them either!!

Oh - and brain damaged bunny is still hanging in there too - he's very "lop sided" but eats and drinks, and poohs and pees.........just not real coordinated!! Still very scared of me...........I feel bad for him but he has to be fed and watered and his litter changed - scares him when I reach in the cage (I try to do it when he's sleeping) We keep his cage covered with a cloth so he feels more secure (like he's down a rabbit hole)

Punky - the squirrel is in the midst of all this - and I have seen the owl eyeing Punky!! (Punk is bigger than the owl - so I think he's safe!!)

And Wendy the "new" kitten has taken up with Muffy and they are sleeping in the same cat house together!!!

So - animal wise - it's all going good here!

I guess I have been away too much as I missed this thread. I posted this on the other owl thread.

Pam and I were amazed to find a dead owl on our last trip to Mojave about a week and a half ago and it was so large. We took a picture of it. Mojave Parking lot next to the Motel 6.

Wow...I forgot all about this thread. Update: Two days later I took him to the vet at the Rolling Hills Wildlife refuge....vet gave him a clean bill of health...and we released him back to the wild. Hopefully, he didn't stop to sit in the middle of any more roads!!

Punky the squirrel is getting up in age, he has really slowed down, so I don't know how much longer he will be with us.

The bunny turned out to be a girl bunny...I named her "Susie"...and she is still with us....she's hilarious....she loves my husband....and when her ceramic bowls get empty....she moves them to the front of her hutch then bangs them into the wire to let us know! She is also very neat and tidy...she loves oranges and peanuts in the shell...but always puts the peanut shells and the orange peels into her water bowl so they don't clutter up her cage! (she doesn't drink water from the bowl very often, she uses a water bottle). She is still somewhat lopsided...and the brain injury killed off the "fight or flight" response...so when our big dogs put their noses up against her hutch...she stands up on her hind legs and touches their noses with her nose!!

Pam and I were in Ft. Bragg over the weekend on the coast and I began to talk to this fellow about what he was thinking about while watching the dryer spin. He said that he was an animal biologist and worked for the Mendocino Redwoods and his job was to locate Owls he pulled out his camera phone and began to show us images of owls and then I took our phone and showed him the synch with owls we were having. His name is Eric and he said he would email pics and info about our meeting for the folks on Oro.

Here is the Mendocino Redwoods website

I met Steve and Pam in fort bragg at the laundrymat over the weekend. It was cool to talk about interconnectivity. Steve mentioned they had a dead owl photo and I got on to the subject about how I have a job where I get to search for spotted owls. I've been trained to imitate the owls hoots and search for them during the day. The owls think there's a new owl in their territory and so they hoot back and that's how I locate them. Its a really cool experience. The owls are easily approachable and you can get real close to them. We feed them mice to determine reproductive status. By giving mice to the male owl he'll take it and start calling for a female. The female will start making coos and contact calls from a nest structure and the male will deliver the prey to the nest. I have several photos of owls and of a nest structure I'd like to post. Here's the first one.[/img]

When we went to leave the Fire house cafe last night Linda our waitress began to talk about her synch with owls. She just bought a book about a woman that rescued a barn owl and they became great friends. I asked her to post her story as well as this synch is growing. She did not know what made her decide to get this book but is looking into it. Now I am not sure if this story below is the one she is talking about but I found this one to be very interesting relative to love. Another thing is that the way Buddy (our dove) was treated by Birdy Bird (Our first dove) inhibited him from becoming all that he is now in our reality. I cannot believe the change in this bird and how much of a friend he has become and he wants to be.
http://www.wesleytheowl.com/

Another thing related to Electric Owl that I was thinking about last night is the resemblance of a dove coo to an owl coo. You see when I call Pam when we get separated in the woods or when she is down the street and can't see me I use the dove coo as that is what we do a lot for the bird.

Pam and I are having the synchs with the word Glance in the Rumi Poem and other places.

Quote:
I wait with Silent Passion for one gesture, one Glance from YOU.

The Glance... Songs of Soul Meeting

I feel this poetry is the meaning of all our meetings both with Spirit and with each other and even with these creatures.

Many times I have had experience with Spirit through animals. One time I was having synchs with the song "Just one wink" how the Spirit would lift me out of circumstance through joy and synchronicity and I was actually winked at that day by a cat.

The Wit to Work with Happenstance (or how to use this synch with the owls) You gotta listen to the owl part of this program that was produced TODAY and is so relevant tot he oil spill.
http://www.kpfa.org/archive/id/61201

Ok, on the way to Sunnyvale today Pam and I were listening to 94.1 out of Berkeley and this program about

http://www.kpfa.org/visionary-activist-6 (You can listen to it here)http://www.kpfa.org/archive/id/61201 It speaks of the appetite and the oil spill relevant to this moment.
By Lewis Hyde was on and they spoke of the power of Pentecost as the ability to understand language not only of humans but animals. The woman met a Amish Farmer (David Cline?) who said he had petted an OWL and she asked a Navajo Medicine man what the meaning of this was and what true power was. He said that it was communication with animals as true power. They put all this together relative to the oil spill. Really Cool!

There is going to be a get together in Point Reyes where Pam and I were a couple weeks ago related to this trickster book.
http://www.mesarefuge.org/index.php/1998-2008residents

Another of his books "The Gift" was spoken of on this radio program.

By now a modern classic, The Gift is a brilliantly orchestrated defense of the value of creativity and of its importance in a culture increasingly governed by money and overrun with commodities. Widely available again after twenty-five years, this book is even more necessary today than when it first appeared. An illuminating and transformative book, and completely original in its view of the world, The Gift is cherished by artists, writers, musicians, and thinkers. It is in itself a gift to all who discover the classic wisdom found in its pages.

DNAtree, I listened to that radio show /podcast and put it in my sticky of quotes last Thursday or Friday and mentioned the owl synch. I highly recommend Lewis Hyde's books, I have them and have read them and recommended them on my sticky thread, in the past.

I'm looking forward to his book coming out about the commons in August called Common as Air, or something like that.

I do like that approach of the commons. I am watching Return of a Man Called Horse and they are talking about,, how can the land be owned, how can a rock or tree be owned.

Ongoing Tracy Blvd cop synch
Tracy cop stopped us at 57 mph at the same exact place where they stopped us last time. This makes five times since I have been in California and driven every road in California that Tracy Blvd seems to have a scam going. I would not let him scam me and when I told him that I write about what is going on on this road he got scared and wanted to know if I was recording our conversation as that would be illegal. He also was very adamant that I do not take his picture and left in a hurry. He did not give us a ticket this time.

While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father's favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd's jealousy has terrible consequences--causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga'Hoole--Soren's only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.

I am posting from the Sherwood Forest in Garberville where Pam and I have had a wonderful trip up the coast and are on our way back now. On the way up we happened to stay in Cloverdale at this place that was just opening and turned out they needed my help. (mutual intent) Pam loved getting a room in exchange for helping them fix something and we really enjoyed the night there. As we entered Cloverdale we came in an area we had never seen and found the Owl Cafe and decided to have breakfast there.

After posting this we noticed that You can see the bird through the window of the van.

Tremors is such a cool movie!

Quote:
The Alabama Hills are a popular filming location for television and movie productions, especially Westerns set in an archetypical "rugged" environment. Since the early 1920s, 150 movies and about a dozen television shows have been filmed here, including Tom Mix films, Hopalong Cassidy films, The Gene Autry Show, and The Lone Ranger. Classics such as Gunga Din, Springfield Rifle,"The Violent Men" (1955 film), the Budd Boetticher/Randolph Scott "Ranown" westerns, How the West Was Won.

More recent productions such as Tremors and Joshua Tree, were filmed at "movie ranch" sites known as Movie Flats and Movie Flat Road. In Gladiator, actor Russell Crowe rides a horse in front of the Alabamas, with Mount Whitney in the background, for a scene presumably set in Spain. Star Trek Generations was filmed here in addition to Overton, Nevada and Paramount Studios. More recently, many parts of the films Iron Man and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen were filmed here.

Thomas I did not know that that movie was done there.

Here I am at the Gunga Din site and that is where my car broke down but I was able to fix it with string and JBWeld.

I fixed it right there next to the sign with string and JBWeld.

Here is a short about the weather getting ominous and we were finding many forms that looked like the OWL.

The weather keeping us cool. Everyone said this was the most unusual weather but that it was nice.

Here is another video on the Ominous weather. I had lightning strike right in front of the car as I traveled toward Mt. Whitney.

Sorry the pics are so big I don't have the right program to re size them right now nor the time.

String and JB Weld, lol.

I’ve have my fare share of MacGyver fixes myself. I even carried a floor jack with me to pull the engine, which I did once in a church parking lot to fix a throw-out bearing.

What a time we had wandering in this place.

Here I will post the thoughts I had while walking.

Manna and the intention of "what is it" as You pick it up. Manna meaning "what is it" food for the soul to find something fresh, something new, something like YOU, my life.

Pam and I both had similar synchs while walking the canyon where Gunga Din was dedicated. Mine were about one side of the canyon while Pam's were about the other side.

Is it your fragrance that intoxicates this garden? ...

On my side I saw within the breast of man all that went before and after him and all that he had touched as YOU, whom I speak to when I am alone. And all YOu on this forum that are connected through love and intent hear what is dreamed by those who went before and this is sparked through our interaction with Spirit. Words are obsolete.

Pam saw the same thing in the form of the woman with the child on her lap.

Male and Female sides

Now as to what empowers a man to love his wife and children the law is a deter ant to the natural process.

That Jealous Sun of the Law
that hides the subtle treasure of the moon
Why I treasure YOu
In YOu/YOU I go on eternally

Jesus said: You sow to the Spirit for in the Spirit You find eternal life
But if You sow to the flesh, You only reap destruction.

Out there listening to YOU I heard
If You try to reach her or them in the flesh through doing You will fail
But if You speak only to ME/Spirit I will reach them, even to the heart.

You notice when they listen to the man instead of the Spirit through the man,
when they interpret my words without going to the Spirit and asking "what is this, that I might know the true intentions of his heart.
It is then that they hate me, and misinterpret like they do with their spouse. For they never knew me.

So go to the Spirit and ask for the true intention of the heart when I tell You, "I created You both Woman and Child, I gave you life,
I created you,I do what I want now."

Don't listen to the snake in religion and government as they seek to divorce us. It is the Spirit through me/ME the man that lifts that veil.
They intentionally misunderstood the son of man from the beginning, therefore he has nowhere to lay his head because he covets my own.

They misunderstand without Spirit, for when we communicate it must be as between the father and the son where the Spirit reveals the true intention of the heart not the words. Words without Spirit are sowing to the flesh, be silent! Therefore all that interpret without Spirit and condemn without Spirit's revelation are MURDERERS, and they will find out in a moment.

Ominous weather on the way to Mt. Whitney

More weather synchs
