Crap.
The tropical depression has just been updated to a
tropical storm named Katrina!
Up to 15" of rain could fall on our little
noggins. And starting on Thursday, too.
Big boo- hoooooooooooo....
It'll hit Miami first, then travel across the state to
torture me here on the other coast.

then it looks like it might travel
across Florida, then the gulf and hit New Orleans as a Category 3
hurricane.
YIKES.

South Florida Under Hurricane Watch
MIAMI - Tropical Storm Katrina formed Wednesday
morning in the Bahamas and could reach hurricane strength before hitting
Florida later this week, the National Hurricane Center said.
A tropical storm warning and a hurricane watch were
posted for a 150-mile stretch of Florida's southeast coast from Florida
City north to Vero Beach, meaning tropical storm conditions were likely by
late Thursday.
"It's time for South Florida to start taking
precautions," said Eric Blake, a hurricane center meteorologist.
Because of Katrina, Gov. Jeb Bush canceled a business
trip to Peru that was to begin later Wednesday and planned to return to
Florida from Virginia, where he was attending a hearing on military base
realignment.
At 11 a.m., the season's 11th named storm had
sustained wind of 40 mph and was centered about 50 miles east-southeast of
Nassau, or about 230 miles east-southeast of Florida. It was moving toward
the north-northwest at 8 mph.
Katrina could reach hurricane strength, with sustained
wind blowing at 74 mph, before making landfall Thursday, the hurricane center
said.

Start gettin' my room ready, Rainbow2! But, seriously,
thank you ever so much for your generosity! You are too, too kind.
However, for reasons only beknownst to moi, I cannot
flee - and must remain to face the inevitable. I shall have to head for
higher ground. Like a high rise hotel perhaps!
It is a monster in red on the weather channel! OMG! I
hadn't a clue it was so large! And now it's heading due west. Brother.
I shall have to pack a little suitcase and trott off
to Ft. Myers.... before it's too late. They say it's moving slowly and
thus, will dump tons of rain on us and thus we shall flood flood flood.
Uh oh.

I live in Mass..we just had a thunderstorm go through
..in 20 minutes we got over an inch of rain...a hail storm..and the temp
went from 82 to 62
the grass looks like it has snow all over it..very
strange.
but I will take this over 15 inches of rain...stay
safe..and let us know when you return home.
do you keep a suitcase packed all the time..it seems
you are running to high ground all the time.

Good luck Misterlady. Looks like
you are under the gun for a hit according to the 11 oclock reports.
Considering how close to landfall Katrina is, it is disconcerting to see so
much divergence in the model suite. I would not be surprised if she does
not move as forecast as there are too many varilables as of now.
stay safe!

I'm headed for a highrise hotel in
the next town up. Made my reservations
last night. I'm not about to stay in a one level building that only sits
above the ground by just over a foot. This place floods in just a downpour.
I saw the news warning of tornadoes - that is rather
unnerving, but I think it'll be okay. I'm just glad it has to cross the
state first. Hopefully that will make it die down.
Where is goes afterwards is anyone's guess.
Anyway, off to pack and evacuate. Thanks for your
well-wishes!

couldn't stop worrying about him this time. As of this afternoon it looks
like he'll head right into the storm.

If it helps MisterLady - We make tenative evac. plans
every time there's a tropical storm in the Gulf, or even a threat to our
coast from the East Coast.
This time - we have a hotel booked *just in case* We
found a hotel that takes pets, and we can cancel without penalty as late as
6:00 p.m.
Good luck - I've been thinking of you in Naples.

Holy Smokes! They're showing the
damage done by Katrina and an entire overpass collapsed onto the road
below! Good grief.
I drove all the way up to Ft. Myers yesterday in the
rain. I was unsure about even going up there, but thought I'd fare better
at a hotel with upper floors and it was the cheapest "residence
hotel" I could find online that had free wireless access. I figured
they'd have a generator, but no.
Anyway, I get all the way up there and it was like
Murphy's Law! Their computer's were down and when I tried to log onto my
laptop using their wireless system, I couldn't log on despite them giving
me 2 different user codes! Then they couldn't get my card to post. I gave
up and drove straight back to Naples to wait out the storm.
When I woke up, all I didn't hear any rain or wind,
even. The eyewall appears to have traveled across the state well below
Naples! Whew! However, they are calling for heavy rains today and tomorrow
from the outer bands.
Still, it could've been really bad. We dodged a bullet
again and I was saved from having to shell out $$ for a hotel. Lucky me!

Wild Ride MisterLady glad you are
ok.
I was reading where you were being attached and felt
that related to the poetry of what happened in the storm for you. When I
felt hurt I took it with me and the problems followed me. I too was feeling
hurt by loved ones misunderstanding when I saw your plight fight flight.
This song has been ringing in my ear about
misunderstanding and others jealosy and leaving no stone unturned to try to
get back at me. And how the spirit uses everything even my misunderstanding
towards my original intent.
Mutual misunderstanding
After the fact
Sensitivity builds a prison
In the final act
We lose direction
No stone unturned
No tears to damn you
When jealousy burns
http://www.eltonography.com/songs/sacrifice.html
When I tell these things to folks, it is equal, for I
am telling you what I am experiencing and see it mirrored in your
experience. I am not teaching I am experiencing and sharing my soul. The
Jealosy and misunderstanding of others was what threatened my house
recently. It seems to be occuring so that I can look at it from spirit and
write of it as it is growing in all the world. The antedote (spirit) is
also growing in all of us. When I feel lost (which is often before the
poetry shows up) is when the doors seem to be blocked and every which way I
turn does not work. I then look in my layers and let go of anything that is
hurting and look for success in any moment such as having tea alone
thinking about YOU.

My parents and sisters rode it out
as we did with Andrew in 1992. Of course Hurricane Andrew Cat 5 was a hell
of a lot worse. I moved away after that one only to visit once in a blue
moon.
Lots of rain some wind and a couple of branches and
power problems is all they had with this one but alot of people down there
were caught off guard. She got strong and quick. The storm is not doing
exactly as they thought either. It was moving kinda eratic WSW into the
gulf and now it looks to have it's act together better then before at about
110 mph this afternoon if recon is right. The big question here is how far
west will it go before it makes it's curve north. The Hurricane center
still says that the panhandle will take the second hit by a strong cat.3
maybe 4 storm say by monday. If the storm does not turn north soon it may
have to be adjusted more west to Alabama or New Orleans.Either way I would
like to see what is left of it get up here in the Mid West we sure could
use the rain.Glad to here you made out OK MisterLady

Thanks all for your well-wishes. I
really appreciate them, every one.
Frankly, I had vowed never to log onto this site again
after events of recent days - as who needs that crap, eh?
However, I just saw Katrina was headed for New Orleans
and logged on to PM Patrice and Villival - who both live in New Orleans -
and I'd been saying for some time that I felt a hurricane was headed for
their area this year.
Anyway, someone PMd me to log on to read Mr. Tree's
post in this thread as they felt he wrote so beautifully and like
poetry.... and so you have, Mr. Tree!
Thank you for your words of wisdom and understanding,
Mr. Tree. I am grateful for them and for you seeing the situation for what
it is/was. I take your words to heart... and find much healing comfort in
them.
You are ever so kind. xoxoxo
So, now, I suppose prayers are in order for those in
the Panhandle. Perhaps it will turn, or lose strength. I sure hope so.
Here, oddly enough, there was barely any rain at all
and just some wind gusts. I am grateful it wasn't bad like Miami. They have
a real mess there.
Even when I was going through the whole process of
driving up to the hotel to check in, I never 'saw' any rain or general
destruction. However, as a precaution I decided to proceed. Someone sure
was looking out for me (and my wallet) as I only found out today that the
reason they couldn't post my card was because their phones were down. I had
to call to complain, as they'd charged me for one night after all, still
having my card info on file! And I never even stayed there! (?!!) Thus, they
posted a refund. Geez....
So, in the end, all is well.

Yes my friend from Florida named
Katrina was just partying on bourbon st. a few days ago and my father and
brother are together in the panhandle and they remember Katrina from the
days I lived there. Katrina visited Pam and I a few months ago when we went
to San Diago. Neat coincidence that the storm seems to be headed there.
Katrina said of bourbon st. "There are men everywhere" and I felt
it would be a synch. Glad to see everything is alright with you MisterLady.
You have got to go watch the Penquin movie talk about love and amazing
synchronicity of what we have been discussing lately about the spirit and
about the treasure.

I just this morning saw something about that movie and
thought I might go see it today! You are right on target, Mr. Tree - as
usual.
Hopefully, your family in the panhandle will be safe
from harm. Not to mention your property. I just hope the people in New
Orleans get out while they can as it is looking ominous.
And thanks, Moonsekar, for your concern. I'm grateful
I didn't have to experience what Miami did or what New Orleans might. These
storms are so powerful and frightening!

Yet just a dream we created,,, one of my whirlwind
synchs is that a huge storm I created was about to show up and because I
created it in a dream I sent it back just at the last moment.
Once you let go of shame and blame and learn to trust
spirit all these things become part of your body and your being and there
really is nothing to fear as you know in the spirit it works toward your
purpose in the spirit. You see it is what you believe about life and God,
when you realise that you created it and that God is for you then who or
what interpretation can be against you? Get ready for the wild Ride!
